Roger Thomas is a highly experienced writer and editor with a long track record of working for numerous high-profile tourism organisations in the public and private sectors, including Visit Wales, Snowdonia, Jersey, Herefordshire, Bath, Ceredigion-Cardigan Bay, Pembrokeshire, Llandudno, the National Forest, the Brecon Beacons National Park and Welsh Rarebits, Wales’s leading hotel consortium. In particular, he has an in-depth knowledge of Wales and its tourism industry, but also has extensive experience of other destinations, from the USA to France. His many travel books have covered cultural, heritage, activity and landscape themes. Roger also writes for newspapers and magazines and is a member of the British Guild of Travel Writers and Outdoor Writers’ Guild. When he isn’t writing, you’ll most likely find him cycling or skiing.
Huw Thomas started out in business and finance journalism, before being bitten by the travel and tourism bug. He’s worked for Visit Britain, Visit Wales, Fodor’s Travel Guides, viaMichelin.co.uk travel website, Reader’s Digest, Insight Travel Guides, AA Publishing and many more besides. His work encompasses everything from punchy marketing copy for advertising campaigns to managing editorship of major publications (the 2015 Wales Golf guide, published by Visit Wales, being one of the most recent examples). Alongside his work in print media, he also builds, overhauls and manages websites for clients ranging from small community groups to major tourism authorities, and acts as managing editor for Visit Wales’s golf website. In his free time he’s part of the team behind the award-winning Roathcardiff hyperlocal site and Twitter feed, and can be found playing bass guitar in various bands at a pub/wedding/music festival near you.
